about the project
How can a user interface make invisible, highly complex processes—like cognitive functions—not only visible but also intuitive to manage? This is a core challenge for any application dealing with sophisticated data, from financial tech to scientific software.
MIRA is a UI concept that tackles this challenge head-on. It envisions a system where users can manage their mental capabilities like a resource. The project’s focus was to develop a design language that translates abstract concepts into a clear, interactive experience, proving that even the most complex data can be made accessible and engaging for the end-user.
strategic balance over optimization
The UI design is a deliberate strategic choice. Its sterile, black-and-white aesthetic emphasizes the app's technological precision, giving the user a sense of clarity and control over a complex system. Instead of simply 'boosting' abilities, the interface is built around resource management. This promotes a more thoughtful user interaction, demonstrating how UI can guide behavior within a powerful application.
surrealism as an emotional counterweight
To make the abstract concept of cognitive enhancement tangible, surreal illustrations serve as a vital counterweight to the clinical UI. Each function is given a unique visual representation, translating a complex process into an easily understandable metaphor. This visual storytelling is crucial for user onboarding and engagement, as it makes the intangible features of the app feel relatable and less intimidating, bridging the gap between data and the user.
