The AS EVER shirt design merges Y2K aesthetics with an abstract, almost cryptic visual language. At its core lies a butterfly, subtly embedded in the background through layered effects that distort and fragment its form. Over this foundation, I’ve drawn sharp, jagged lines that converge into a central eye—a focal point that radiates outward. These lines extend and stretch upwards, mirroring the butterfly’s wings and creating the illusion that they are breaking free from the composition. The phrase AS EVER represents a sense of continuity, an unchanging state amidst chaos. The word “EVER” is subtly woven into the design itself, reinforcing this theme. Perhaps it reflects the idea that despite transformation, some things remain constant—like the endless cycle of change itself. Sidefact: The butterfly, which can be faintly seen in the background of this design, made its first appearance just a few months earlier in another one of my designs you can find on the playground:

A secondary print on the sleeve adds an extra layer of detail, making the piece feel more complete and unique. The combination of monochromatic textures with high-contrast pink accents gives the design a raw, cyber-infused energy, capturing the essence of early 2000s graphic trends while keeping it modern.

To ensure versatility, I created two versions of the design—one for black textiles and an inverted version for white fabrics. The white variant offers a slightly different visual impact, enhancing contrast and shifting the overall perception of the artwork while maintaining its core aesthetic.
